INFORMATION ABOUT SS SHAKEDOWN
(22 - Johnston Sean / Kihurani Alexander): The target is to get to the end. It's so crazy - I have never seen anything remotely close to roads this rough in my entire life! Getting to the finish is the priority here and I think that's going to be a challenge in itself.
(21 - Prokop Martin / Jůrka Zdeněk): This is a special rally. Last year we had some not nice memories, but let's try again. It's a big challenge for everybody and it's a really difficult rally. The shakedown is similar to some stages - it's not too rough.
(20 - Kajetanowicz Kajetan / Szczepaniak Maciej): It's completely different here. I changed my mind completely after recce and my head is destroyed! It's positive - I want to focus on my job. It's not possible to write everything in this rally in the pace notes, so you need to have a neck like a giraffe! I am happy to be here.
(9 - Serderidis Jourdan / Miclotte Fréderic): It's pretty tough! Very demanding, but the car is going so well. I am surprised by the quality of the car on these types of roads - I was not expecting this. I think we will have fun.
(16 - Fourmaux Adrien / Coria Alexandre): I am really happy to be back in Kenya. Last year was a strong result for the team, so we will try the same approach. In some parts we will have to be slow to manage the car for reliability and the rally will be really long.
(2 - Solberg Oliver / Edmondson Elliott): It's definitely very tough. This first one was a wake-up call! I haven't been in the car for two months, so for sure it's going to be a learning experience and it's already super tough. I need to get more confidence, but the pace notes worked well and I am happy to be back.
(1 - Ogier Sébastien / Veillas Benjamin): I think it's mainly for the people that I came here. It's an experience and I feel the passion that they have for rally. The challenge itself is very tough and I think it's harder this year. From a driving point-of-view it's all about surviving. It will be a difficult rally, but we will try to do our best.
(44 - Greensmith Gus / Andersson Jonas): Last year this stage was quite clean, but it's already broken through to the fech fech. If it's like this for the rest of the rally, it'll be like hell but also good fun!
(19 - Loeb Sébastien / Galmiche Isabelle): It's good, but it's really rough. I am not used to this anymore! We are trying to get the feeling and it's not easy, but I'm happy to be back.
(33 - Evans Elfyn / Martin Scott): It's always going to be a challenge here, especially this year. It's about trying to judge the balance of speed and going as fast as we can, so let's see how it goes.
(18 - Katsuta Takamoto / Johnston Aaron): Of course, you never know what will happen in this rally. I really need to find a balance where you can push and be very careful. It's never easy. In here it's quite bad because of the dust - you have no visibility out of the windscreen.
(42 - Breen Craig / Nagle Paul): Hakuna Matata! I'm looking forward to it - it's a proper adventure and like nothing I've ever seen before. I've watched the Safari for years and always wondered when we'd get the chance to do it - here we are.
(8 - Tänak Ott / Järveoja Martin): It's Safari-spec this year! Definitely the target is to get through.
(11 - Neuville Thierry / Wydaeghe Martijn): It's hard to know how to approach it, to be honest. It's going to be a tough weekend - tougher than last year. The challenge will be to find a good rhythm and get a good set-up as well.
(69 - Rovanperä Kalle / Halttunen Jonne): It seems that this year the rally will be even tougher than last year. I was not expecting rough conditions like we saw on the recce. This year the road is more soft than last year, so we're going to see some difficult conditions I think. |
