INFORMATION ABOUT SS 10
(3 - Meeke Kris / Patterson Chris): There are some corners getting cut up and they get filled up with the powder of the dust - and the car becomes a little difficult to drive in those conditions. We've had no testing for this type of rally so I've had to learn to learn the setup and dial myself in but I'd have to say it’s fantastic, given me a lot of confidence and I can drive it how I want. I'm under orders to finish this weekend and get a good position - so I will drive to by own rhythm and see if we can be in the top places.
(8 - Ogier Sébastien / Ingrassia Julien): I'm not in flat-out mode - although I am trying to get a good result and at the moment I feel safe to drive and where there is a tricky bit in the stage I try to back off a bit. When it's safe and am confident of the car of course I'm trying to go fast. We'll make some adjustments to the car for this afternoon
(11 - Neuville Thierry / Gilsoul Nicolas): It is our first time here and the first two stages weren't so bad - we've survived the first run so I'm sure we'll get through the second.
(9 - Mikkelsen Andreas / Nagle Paul): First stage we almost had a spin but on the second it was okay. On the third we a moment where we had to take an escape road – which luckily was there and had to turn around. The problem was the dust – I couldn’t see where I was going and had to wait in neutral for it to clear before I could go again. It was a small mistake that cost a lot of time when it’s that dusty.
(2 - Hirvonen Mikko / Lehtinen Jarmo): I am really happy considering my road position. I didn’t have a good qualifying stage yesterday so I’m having to take a few risks now to make up for it. This morning it worked pretty well though. There are some really fast sections and some narrow – and the road looks a lot wider than it looks too, in places. Tomorrow the roads are a bit like New Zealand but they are really good overall. It was so slippery that a couple of times I slid wide a little bit and hit the bank – that would be enough to knock the tyre off the rim but not this time – so we were lucky. So in that way I can’t push any harder. |
