Yesterday I really enjoyed, today was honestly more of a struggle and more in my head to manage everything. The Fiesta has been working really well and myself and Shane have put in a lot of work and thanks to everyone who has been supported me. To think two years ago here I had a huge accident and I was lucky to come out of and to get a second on the same stage unreal.

There were four or five good stages but also four or five that were below my expectations and this is why we are fighting for seventh and not the podium places. I’m not happy because I expect more from myself but we are in the fight. The ERC is about eight rounds and I will do what I can. I was trying on the Power Stage but it will be not enough probably. I will fight until the end.

There were a few mistakes on my side but it was a positive event. The reputation of this rally is that. This is one of the hardest in the world on tarmac. Hopefully we will be back here next year and we can improve the driving and the result.

We made some mistakes this week, I spun four times and we had a puncture yesterday so the result isn’t what we wanted. It is good that Calle is keeping the title for the Swedes.

Unfortunately we have had some ups and downs as this is not the perfect pace for Barum but we should drive at this constant level all through the race. This stage is my home stage and I would normally do a much better time than this. I almost had a half spin at the first corner and I had a lot of moments where we lost a lot of time, so to be honest this time is really bad for us. We have to change the set up as this was a horrible set up for this stage but for the previous one it was quite good. I think we need three different set ups for the three stages today.

Like I said yesterday I just need to keep the faith and the tide will turn. It has been a humbling rally but nine months away is difficult. Anyone who has driven these cars knows you need to be in them often.

I feel like I left a bit in there but the rest of the stage was a pretty good rhythm and a good wake up call. Long way to go. I’ve known Jan Kopecký longer than he knows me so it is nice to be racing with him. We will keep pushing.

For sure we missed a bit of knowledge but I think we had a clean run. During the second day we had not a good experience and we were starting in the front so we decided this time to be at the back doing the first day. I’m really proud and happy that I can have the opportunity to start in the European Rally Championship and I want to thank my partners and also MRF Tyres. This time we feel like this.

We just need to be a bit more clean and try and have a clean rally but the feeling is good, so let’s see what the weekend can hold. It is a tricky one and you have to stay flat out and be a bit mental but keep a bit in reserve too.

But already doing this state with this car and these tyres, is incredible. I always did it in a simulator with Richard Burns Rally and it was amazing. It is like a dream.
